Job Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
Department: Advanced Manufacturing Team - TDM
Reports To: Engineering Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of the Product Development Team and has responsibility for development and implementation of production cells which meet quality, cost and delivery objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.
· Specifies and implements manufacturing processes to meet Q,D,C
· Specifies, designs and builds capital equipment and tooling
· Prepares budgets and estimates for capital equipment
· Prepares budgets and estimates for product cost
· Provides technical input to development teams in the areas of motor design for manufacturability and manufacturing process development
· Achieves budgets and project milestones for development projects
· Executes development process so that Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets are met
· Manages Capital Equipment expenditures for development projects
· Provides recommendations to Product Planning Group (PPG) and others related to development projects (technical feasibility, cost, site considerations, etc)
· Actively monitors new manufacturing technology for potential use in motor manufacturing
· Uses DBS tools and lean concepts in development of manufacturing processes and new product development
· Transitions manufacturing lines to low cost regions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
· 3-5 years experience with motor product development and manufacturing process development
· Experience in Lean manufacturing principles, FMEAs, error-proofing, equipment and tooling design and machining preferred

Internal: Design Engineering, Operations, AMT peers
External: Customers, Suppliers
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
